How do you know?
I think that one of the biggest challenges in "Raising Positive Children..." is knowing. How do you know when you're doing the right thing to help your child learn. Is it by spoiling? Or, by using a firm hand and keeping them on track? Just some things for y'all to thing about.

If it's all so negative, how can they be positive?
Our lives can be filled with so much negativity that it can often seem a daunting task to remain positive. This especially holds true as we raise our children.
Look at all the sources of negativity around you: television news programs, newspaper articles, radio news, customer complaints, our own receipt of poor customer service, the weather, etc.
I think that it's easy to say that we are constantly being bombarded on all sides by negativity. And, please understand that I'm not "blasting" the media here--I understand, sensationalism sells. Misery loves company, and all that. They are, after all, in the business they are in to make a profit.
And yes, if you feel that you need to be informed on what's going on in the world, then you need to be informed. However, as James Earl Ray says, you don't need to be inundated with garbage.
(paraphrased).
This blog, as the title suggests, is about children. The impact we have on our children is so very, very strong and we should constantly be aware of it and keep our own negativity in check. That being said, it's quite comprehendable to understand that if we surround ourselves with negativity, then this negativity will surely be passed on to our children.
Most likely, there's not a single able-minded parent out there who will say: "I want my kid(s) to be negative. I want them to have a negative life."
So...
First learn to deal with the negativity in your own life experience so that you are not exposing your children to this garbage. Your attitude, if constantly taking in negative junk, is probably not going to be a positive example to your chilren. And, your dealings with your children will not be in a positive manner if you are negative.
Children need encouragement and positive reinforcement, not criticism and belittling.
Do your best to be the best example you can to your children and marvel at the results that your children will experience!!
